Refund Policy

Cancellation windows, what happens once a class begins, and how a refund reaches you.

Cancelling before a class begins

Cancel any enrollment more than seven days before its first meeting for a full refund to the payment method you used. Cancel within seven days of the first meeting, but before it begins, and everything you paid is credited in full to your Lyceum balance, where it can be spent on any class.

Withdrawing after a class has begun

Once the first meeting of a class has begun there are no refunds and no credits for that enrollment, whether or not your child attends the remaining meetings. You may withdraw at any time, and a weekly payment plan simply stops being charged for weeks not yet billed; nothing already paid is returned.

Recordings of meetings already released to you remain available for their usual period after a withdrawal.

When an instructor cannot teach a meeting

If an instructor cannot teach a scheduled meeting, the meeting is made up rather than refunded: usually the class is extended by one week at the same day and time, or the instructor sets another time. You are told at once by email and the make-up appears on your calendar. A recording of the make-up counts as attendance, as for any meeting.

If a meeting is cancelled and cannot be made up, that meeting’s share of the price you paid is credited to your Lyceum balance automatically. Instructors are not paid for meetings they do not teach.

When the Lyceum cancels a class

If we cancel a whole class or section, or an instructor cannot complete it and we cannot find a replacement families accept, every meeting not held is refunded in full to your original payment method, or to your Lyceum balance at your choice. Anything that was paid from the balance, including gift card credit, goes back to the balance. You will be told by email within one business day of the cancellation.

Your Lyceum balance, gift cards, scholarships, and contributions

Money added to your Lyceum balance is not refundable or withdrawable as cash except where the law requires; it can be spent on any class, is shared by all your children, and does not expire while the account is open.

A gift card is not refundable to the person who bought it once it has been sent. When the recipient redeems it, the value becomes part of their Lyceum balance and follows the rules above: spendable on any class, never refunded to a card. If a class paid for with gift card credit is cancelled or withdrawn from, the credit returns to the balance, not to the sender.

Scholarship awards are credit under the Scholarship Policy and are not refundable as cash. Charitable contributions to the Lyceum are irrevocable gifts and are not refundable.

How a refund reaches you

Refunds to a card or bank account are issued within three business days of the cancellation and usually appear within five to ten business days, depending on your bank. Refunds to your Lyceum balance are immediate. Every refund appears as a receipt in your account.

Questions about a refund may be sent to info@odysseuslyceum.org. A person will answer.
