Financial assistance

Cost should never be the barrier

Scholarships are a first-class feature of this platform, distinct from rewards in both the product and the database. If a class is right for your child, we would rather find the money than lose the student.

How it works

Four steps, no gatekeeping

  1. 01

    Apply from your account

A short need-based application in the parent experience. No essay, no interview, no letter from anyone.

  2. 02

    Reviewed by a person

Our team reviews applications on a rolling basis, usually within five business days.

  3. 03

    Awarded to the family

An award is a dollar amount attached to your account with an expiration date, visible at all times.

  4. 04

    Redeemed at checkout

Apply it to any eligible enrollment. Partial use is fine, and the balance stays with you.

A distinction we keep

Scholarships are not rewards

  • Rewards are earned

Points accumulate from live attendance, completion, participation, achievement, and reading milestones. They are a consequence of a student’s own work.

  • Scholarships are granted

Awards are need-based and decided by the Lyceum. They are not a reflection of a student’s performance and are never described to a student that way.

  • Both produce tuition credit

They look similar at checkout, which is why the platform keeps them as separate entities in the product and in the ledger. A family always knows which is which.

Also true

Some of the catalog is simply free

A portion of the catalog is free and stays free, including Character, Virtue & the Good Life, a five-week seminar we would like every family to try before they spend anything, and two of our clubs.

Studio supply grants cover materials for art courses. Book grants cover a print copy for seminar students who need one. Neither requires a separate application beyond the same short form.

Apply before you decide you cannot afford it.

The application takes about four minutes and lives inside your parent account, alongside your awards, balances, and renewal dates.
